SENIOR ENGINEER

Reporting to:

Engineering Manager

Scope

Responsible as one of TMD’s lead engineers fir the inception, bidding, design and development of new products. To act as the design authority on assigned products. Must have the capability to design leading edge high and low voltage products using the latest techniques and technologies, to customer and TMD quality and technical specifications.

Main Duties
• Achievement of schedules activity against own forecasts / plans

• Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements, including nature of deliverables, specifications, delivery milestones, stage payment terms, delivery rate and timing, contractual terms and QA conditions

• To devise plans with allotted programme manager

• Have the ability to be resourceful, innovative and technically advanced to design high end, products to exacting requirements.

• Reviewing new product or project specifications and plans. Providing supporting commentaries and information for proposals.

• Work in a team environment as lead engineer

• Provide advice support and mentoring to the junior engineering team.

• Communicate with engineers, management and manufacturing the requirements and issues relating to assigned tasks.

• Provide broad advice to the engineering team.

• Ensuring compliance with TMD manufacturing and quality procedures.

• Liaison with all departments at TMD

• Attend programme and design review meetings as required.

• Customer contact and liaison

• Maintaining and ‘Engineers Daybook’ to allow visibility of activities in the event of absence

• Raising and agreeing acceptance test documents and quality plans with customer agreement as necessary.

• Authorise changes and improvements to programmes with design authority responsibility as well as recommending changes, improvements and cost reduction on allocated programmes.

• To support Production with trouble shooting, problem solving and new product inception.

• To undertake any other task, which may reasonably be requested.

• To comply with the Company Policy on Health & Safety.

Qualifications & Experience
Degree/ HNC Engineering, Electronics or equivalent
Mechanical Engineering qualifications (Desirable)
Experience working on Switch mode H.V. PSUs
General Power Supply experience
